Circa 1871-1918, 1933-1945. The letters D.R.G.M. stand for German Empire Utility Design and that was a registered pattern. It has been carried and used some. The edge of the blade has some dings in it as well as the handles. The initials H.R.S. are engraved on the front side of the handle. The blades are tight and the springs are strong. The bail is marked sterling on one side and Germany on the other side.
